Android: Netrunner - Fan Fiction - Mr Smith Goes To Weyland

Smith surveyed the Security Operations Room. It was as he expected it. Rows of technicians hunched over their workstations, centered around a large screen at the front. All of them human and in no way similar to each other. Sometimes you could tell who you were working for just by looking at the staff. Everything looked state of the art. To be expected when working for Weyland Consortium. They had the money and were not afraid to spend it to protect their interests. A very young and inexperienced looking man approached him. He looked like the picture you might see next to the definition of Easy Mark in the Anarch hacking bible.

Dale: Good evening. You must be Mr Smith. My name is Dale. I am the junior Security Officer assigned to assist you.

Smith: Is this your first time, Dale?

Dale: I have observed a number of operations, but this is my first time acting as the junior security officer.

Smith: Is one of your family members someone I should know? You're not related to the Chief Security Officer here at Weyland?

Dale: I graduated at the top of my class and I can assure you I am fully trained and ready to provide advice on what tools we have available.

Smith: I hope you are. Without someone to watch over you, you are going to have to be very good if you want a long career at Weyland.

Dale: Yes, sir. We have all the usual tools at our disposal...

Smith: Skip that. I read the briefing. Tell me about the hacker.

Halo 4 News

This article discusses the first few reviews of Halo 4.

From a score of eight to 9.8 out of 10, it seems the critics like it. Phrases such as "awesome", "out-Bungie Bungie" and the words "343" and "nailed" in the same sentence.

Video with Jen Taylor, the voice of Cortana. She does all the narration in the video and it is a bit weird to hear "Cortana" talking about Halo.

Halo 4: Season One Spartan Ops

Below is the trailer for Season One of Spartan Ops.

This is something new for the Halo franchise: Episodic content which may fill the gap between Halo 4 and Halo 5.

Taking place 6 months after the events in Halo 4, this new content is based on the planet Requiem and will consist of 10 episodes, each with 5 missions, that you can play with up to 4 friends. The first season is free and they recommend that you finish the campaign before to avoid spoilers.

Good PC Game Reviews - Out Of Eight

Whenever I read video game reviews on the big gaming sites, I never know if I should trust them. The video game review industry is rife with examples of the big game sites writing reviews the benefit their big advertisers, and not their customers.

If you are looking for a site with good game reviews, I recommend Out Of Eight.

He has been posting reviews since 2005 and he has no ads on his site. I read a few reviews of some games that I have, and he is spot on. Also, he appears to have much of the same taste in games as I do.

So check him out.

Mass Effect 3 Updates

It is one month until the release of Mass Effect 3. It is still on track for its March 6th release date, and there should be no changes to the date as it is rumoured that Mass Effect 3 was slated for a Christmas 2011 release, but it was delayed due to the release of that other Bioware game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

A demo, which is rumoured to include the first level/mission, is set for release on 14 February.

This article talks about the first 90 minutes of the game. It sounds as if the writer was able to play the demo. Warning: Spoiler Alert. She gives away some interesting bits of storyline.

Here is a video interview with some of the voice cast of Mass Effect 3. No spoilers (unless knowing who the cast is is a spoiler.) I have yet to see one of these which includes the guy who voices the male Shepard. Is he really ugly or something?

Some video of the multiplayer portion of ME3.

What is in the future for Mass Effect? Bioware suggests it might be a good idea to keep your saved games.

Update: Anyone who downloads and runs the demo of Kingdoms of  Amalur: Reckoning, will receive a set of armour for Mass Effect 3. If you finish the demo, you will also get a weapon (I cannot confirm this, as I have not finished the demo). This is for the XBox 360 version, I am not sure about the PC and PS3.
